libio-socket-ip-perl software package provides module for using IPv4 and IPv6 sockets in a protocol-independent way, you can install in your Debian 8 (Jessie) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libio-socket-ip-perl
libio-socket-ip-perl is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libio-socket-ip-perl package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libio-socket-ip-perl *
You will get with libio-socket-ip-perl package name, version, architecture and description in a table
